Hi, I’m vy. I’m queer, trans and audhd. I’m from Vancouver, and have been practicing as an RMT since 2021.
I base my practice on the belief that everyone’s body, needs, and lived experiences are unique, and the ways they can best be supported are as well. I approach my patients with body-neutral, trauma-informed, and non-judgmental attitudes. It’s genuinely important to me that the people and bodies in my care feel safe and comfortable. I welcome feedback, questions, fine-tuning and clarifying before, during, and after treatment. When you book time with me your well-being and comfort are going to be centred, so please feel confident that you can ask for your needs to be met and be taken seriously.
Treatments with me are often slow and quiet, exploratory and meditative. They can also be more active, engaged, collaborative, and dynamic, especially if we’re honing into sensitive areas or trying to access or relieve something specific. The techniques I use blend swedish, fascial, neuromuscular, joint play, cranial, and stretching. My intention is that treatments feel good rather than painful, and orient towards pleasure and positive or novel sensation rather than enduring discomfort for an ostensible therapeutic benefit. I want to be kind to your nervous system.
I have a particular interest in working with folks who are gender-expansive, queer, and/or neurodivergent, as well as people with chronic pain. I have experience working with bodies with hypermobile Ehler’s-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and bodies that have had gender-affirming surgeries.
I’ve taken advanced training in TMJ massage, and I’m undertaking a multi-year course series that explores fascia throughout the body.
Outside of my work I’m usually trawling for sci fi in used bookstores, writing or reading, spending time looking at plants and birds, or hanging with my cat.
I look forward to working with you!
