Massage Therapy

My approach to massage therapy combines relaxation massage with myofascial techniques in order to help address areas of pain and tension while simultaneously encouraging nervous system regulation. I am also trained in the application of basic Manual Lymphatic Drainage techniques (Vodder method).

Creating a safe, ethical, and welcoming treatment environment is especially important to me. I value your life experience, input, and wisdom about your body as we co-create a treatment plan together. As a queer and neurodivergent person myself, I can appreciate the unique challenges many members of the community face when searching for fulfilling healthcare and therapeutic spaces. Regardless of your life story or identity, I am deeply committed to your goals, comfort, and well-being. My commitment to community service and accessibility is what led me to a career as an RMT.

Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or just wanting to treat yourself to a relaxation massage, I am here to provide you with the relevant assessment, treatment, and home care suggestions to guide you towards your goals.

My areas of professional interest include chronic stress & pain, autoimmune disease, connective tissue disorders, gender affirming care, and trauma. But of course, I warmly welcome all clients!

When I am not working as an RMT, you can find me playing a good video game, working out, hosting a potluck, or out supporting social causes.

I look forward to getting to know you!

JL Harder

Massage Therapy

JL is an RMT with advanced training in fascial, cranial, and lymphatic treatment techniques. They are a certified level 3 manual lymphatic drainage therapist with Vodder School International. They are currently broadening their knowledge on biodynamic fascial integration training. JL’s passion for working with the body is inspired by their love of listening closely to how the mind/body interact to restrict or expand movement.

JL approaches injury and rehabilation through a holistic approach that combines fascial, visceral (organs), and cranial techniques. Through collaboration, they will meet your body where it is, inviting the structures and tissue to find ease and softness.

JL is committed to providing non judgmental care and aspires to work in ways that counter how racism, anti-fatness, and western imperial ways of hierarchy and power show up in wellness spaces.

In their off time JL loves learning about the anatomy of fascia, boxing, connecting with their community, and spending time deep in the forest.

Massage Therapy

Hi, I’m vy. I’m queer, trans and audhd. I’m from Vancouver, and have been practicing as an RMT since 2021.

I base my practice on the belief that everyone’s body, needs, and lived experiences are unique, and the ways they can best be supported are as well. I approach my patients with body-neutral, trauma-informed, and non-judgmental attitudes. It’s genuinely important to me that the people and bodies in my care feel safe and comfortable. I welcome feedback, questions, fine-tuning and clarifying before, during, and after treatment. When you book time with me your well-being and comfort are going to be centred, so please feel confident that you can ask for your needs to be met and be taken seriously.

Treatments with me are often slow and quiet, exploratory and meditative. They can also be more active, engaged, collaborative, and dynamic, especially if we’re honing into sensitive areas or trying to access or relieve something specific. The techniques I use blend swedish, fascial, neuromuscular, joint play, cranial, and stretching. My intention is that treatments feel good rather than painful, and orient towards pleasure and positive or novel sensation rather than enduring discomfort for an ostensible therapeutic benefit. I want to be kind to your nervous system.

I have a particular interest in working with folks who are gender-expansive, queer, and/or neurodivergent, as well as people with chronic pain. I have experience working with bodies with hypermobile Ehler’s-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and bodies that have had gender-affirming surgeries.

I’ve taken advanced training in TMJ massage, and I’m undertaking a multi-year course series that explores fascia throughout the body.

Outside of my work I’m usually trawling for sci fi in used bookstores, writing or reading, spending time looking at plants and birds, or hanging with my cat.

I look forward to working with you!
